Introduction to Bladesmithing
This class is a one day starting at 9am and finish at 5pm.
YOU MUST BE 18+ to attend the class.
Class Description
Use hand, hammer, and fire to forge steel into objects that will last.
This class is the perfect foundation for understanding how metal moves, how to use a variety of forging tools from the anvil, through to dies, a variety of hammers and also the forge press.
At the end you'll walk away with your own culinary tools, made by you.
What You'll Learn
- Forge One Petty or Paring Knife, working from existing designs.
- How to Heat Treat High Carbon Steel.
- Learn To Grind Knives using Professional Equipment
- Choose from an array of available Japanese Wa style Handles.
Requirements
This class is designed with the beginner in mind. There is no expectation of knowledge about knife making or about tools beforehand.
Please wear sturdy work clothes to this course. All other equipment and protective wear will be provided
